ABOUT TESHUVAH.COM

Teshuvah.com is and always has been a site dedicated to helping people to return to a personal and satisfying relationship with the Creator of the universe. It has changed over the years, but the purpose is the same. And now the focus is on the Baal Teshuvah, the person returning to Torah-true Judaism, and also the Ben Noakh, the non-Jew needing information on how to be a righteous gentile according to the teahings of the Torah.

Teshuvah.com was founded in 1994 in response to requests for information from people all over the world who had seen the Torah-Observant web site of Knesset HaShuvim congregation in Bowie Maryland near Washington D.C. The congregation was a "Messianic Jewish" congregation, founded by Yeshayahu and Miryam Heiliczer, who at the time had been caught up in the "Hebrew Christian" movement, and were directors of Covenant of Love Messianic Outreach Ministries.

Even though it started as a "Messianic" site, Teshuvah.com has always been an educational ministry whose primary message is that the Torah was given by G–d as His perfect standard for His people, and therefore should be followed to the best of our ability.

It became more and more clear as we journeyed away from Christian Messianism and back towards Torah-true Judaism that there was no way to follow and teach a religion whose faith was built on "a good story that millions of people have believed in." Rather it became more important to get back to the beginning, to the standards of the Creator of the universe.

Some of what is written in the "New Testament" may be historically accurate, but none is proveable, and much of it contradicts the Torah. But it is interesting that even among those who believe in the New Testament, what seems to be the most important teaching of Y'shua/Jesus is often ignored. In Matthew 5:17-19 it is written that Y'shua/Jesus said:

Don't think that I have come to abolish the Torah or the Prophets. I have come not to abolish but to complete. Yes indeed! I tell you that until heaven and earth pass away, not so much as a yud or a stroke will pass from the Torah — not until everything that must happen has happened. So whoever disobeys the least of these mitzvot and teaches others to do so will be called the least in the Kingdom of Heaven. But whoever obeys them and so teaches will be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven." (Complete Jewish Bible [Messianic])

So the path of Torah-observant Messianic Judaism, also called Nazarene Judaism, for anyone with an open-mind and a desire to find truth, must lead back to the original - to Torah and to Orthodox Judaism. Teshuvah Gate is no longer a "Messianic" or "Nazarene" site. It is an Orthodox Jewish site. The owner of this site no longer believes in the historicity of the "New Testament," nor that Y'shua/Jesus is/was the Messiah. For more information, see the article "Is Christianity Bunk?"
